Lilly June was born five weeks early on January 9, 2015, giving the world fair warning that she was impatient to get going and start living.

When she was four months old, her parents dedicated her to the Lord on Mother's Day at Orange Baptist Church.  Ten years later, on Mother's Day, 2025, she made her profession of faith and joined Orange Baptist Church.  She was then baptized on Memorial Day weekend, 2025.

Lilly June was thrilled to be a part of her church family.  She loved attending church, especially the Wednesday night dinners, and she enjoyed the community garden located on the church's property.  As a homeschooler, she preferred her morning lessons to take place on the church's property at "the Garden Grove" with its beautiful view of the mountains. After, she would embark on the gloriously messy and sometimes muddy job of helping to weed the assigned family plot in the church vegetable garden. She especially enjoyed the muddy part of the weeding.

She loved the Gospel Bible stories that were part of her homeschooling curriculum and her Sunday School lessons.  She outspokenly preferred the disciple Peter, with whom she strongly identified - being impulsively action-oriented and bold herself.  She had many questions and was always eager to learn more about God.

She loved to read and to draw, and had considerable talent. She liked to surprise family members by leaving illustrated notes in unexpected places. She loved animals of all kinds and had an amazing facility with them.  She rescued baby rabbits and birds from the cats and made friends with a frequent possum visitor whom she named Jim-Bob. Her chickens were tame and would fly up to her shoulders and ride around on them. Her cat frequently sat on her head.

Lilly June went to be with Jesus on June 30, 2025
